DiamondPeel Overview: By age 35, almost 50% of the skin’s ability to consume and retain oxygen has been impaired. Less Oxygen results in more wrinkles, fine lines, and dull looking skin. The DiamondPeel helps to resolve this problem and is also useful as a prep for plastic/aesthetic surgery (e.g.: facelifts, collagen surgery, etc...) The DiamondPeel produces an allotropic form of Oxygen that can penetrate the skin better than oxygenated cremes and has the ability of killing harmful bacteria. Because oxygen is introduced to the skin at the cellular level, it bonds to red blood cells, providing additional strength to the collagen and elastin fibers, which in turn will helps improve the elasticity of the skin. When the operator turns on the Oxygen function of the DiamondPeel system, you will smell the cleaner decontaminated airflow leaving the DiamondSkin wand. The oxygen oxidizes the oily sebum found inside the pores, helping to eliminate the oil as a food source for bacteria. Since bacteria that normally live on the skin also play a role in acne development. The bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes are responsible for causing acne. These bacteria produce substances that cause redness and irritation (inflammation). They also make enzymes, which dissolve the sebum (oil from oil glands in the skin) into irritating substances. These substances also make the inflammation worse. The DiamondPeel is best used for the following treatments, either by itself or in conjunction with another skin resurfacing application such as IPL or chemical peel: * Reduction of minor to moderate aging fine lines * Minor revision of scars * Sun damaged skin * Hyperpigmentation reduction * Reduction of acne scars * Rejuvenation of overall skin health * Age spots * Extraction of blackheads and whiteheads Oxygen Treatment Protocol: After the microdermabrasion procedure, you can turn on the oxygen flow in order to give your patient a complete "Oxygen Facial". Simply attach the blue tubing and place into the diffusion mask. You can leave the mask on your patient for 5-10 minutes and allow them to have a "mini oxygen bath". In addition, when dealing with tough acne scar tissue using a DiamondSkin wand, the client may feel that part of their skin irritated due to the deep exfoliation necessary in order to effectively treat the scar tissue. You can use the special dual-purpose DiamondSkin wand that allows you to apply Oxygen at the same time that the skin is being exfoliated. The allows the skin to quickly cool down while simultaneously rehydrating the patient's treated skin by increasing the amount of the oxygen flow. Anaerobic bacteria, which helps to cause outbreaks on some patients, is also killed inside the pores when this is done since they cannot live in an Oxygen rich environment. Made of surgical grade stainless steel, each DiamondPeel wand tip is embedded with natural diamond chips sifted to the exact micron size. Wands are available in four micron chip sizes to insure proper resurfacing for each individual's skin type. Selecting the appropriate diamond-wand, along with the adjustable vacuum, allows for a controlled abrasion of the skin. Once complete, the skin that has been removed is deposited on a small disposable filter for the client to see. Because there are no crystals being propelled onto the skin, the DiamondPeel system allows the user to treat areas closer to the eyes and those fine lines and wrinkles around the lips. The DiamondPeel Microdermabrasion wand has the exfoliating action of diamond chips, the stimulating action of vacuum, and the rehydrating effects of oxygenated air.
